The function of the Maronite Youth Committee is comprised of 3 different portfolios:
Social Activities:
Not only do we believe in praying together, but also in playing together. Socialising and getting to know each other forms a big part of what we do. Sheikh's Palace dinner-dance, pizza evenings, movie evenings, braais, Club 18 get together's are but a few events that have been planned.
Spiritual Activities:
We believe that when we pray together, we stay together and therefore have a variety of spiritual activities catering to each individual's preference. Praise and worship prayer meetings, JAM (Jesus And ME) sessions, retreats, youth Life in the Spirit seminars, as well as youth trips to Ngome, just to name a few.
Charity:
The youth has found great fulfillment in reaching out to the less fortunate community. We centre our charity drives around 3 focal areas, namely winter, Christmas and Easter drives. We often visit old age homes, visit the sick and children's homes.
WHAT ELSE???
Because abortion is close to the committee's heart, we have designed "chooseLife" wristbands that raise awareness about abortion. These bands can be purchased from a Maronite Youth Committee member.
